Due to recurrent email hacking attempts, we are once again asking that everyone enable a 2-step verification feature on their EasyStreet or Highgarden email accounts.

With this feature enabled, Gmail will text you a 6 digit verification code when you log in to your email account from a new browser or device.  You will have to enter this 6 digit code in order to access your gmail account.  This is only required the first time you use a new browser or device, should prevent logins from hackers (since they should not have access to your text messages in order to access the code), and will notify you directly of any account suspicious activity.

Why is this important?  You are all regularly emailing confidential documents and information that could potentially be accessed by a hacker.  Some methods are now allowing the hackers to log into email accounts directly and send emails to contacts requesting personal information or wire transfers.  It is incredibly important that you take your email security seriously, as it is a fiduciary responsibility that we all owe our clients.

*Note about Device Type on App Specific Passwords:  This does not affect the code/password you receive, it is only used for identification purposes in the future.  You can choose Other if your specific device type is not listed.  How this works: if your phone or laptop is lost or stolen, you can go to your gmail account from any other computer and Revoke the app-specific password for that device so that another person cannot utilize your account for the lost or stolen device.  Additionally, if they were to uncover the password used on that device, it would be of no benefit as it was randomly generated and used on that one device only.
